quick reaction to TF2’s new Mann VS Machine.
Immediate reaction this isn’t a Tower Defense game. In fact it’s closer to Left 4 Dead style of overwhelming opponents mixed in with some similar TF2 themes. It’s not easy, on normal it’s still hard, requires a lot of coordination and the right balance. The upgrade system is interesting but not quite easy to have characters run around collecting money and risk getting hit. Still running up and wacking things with your melee weapon are better results then just upgrading.
The new art style is amazing, new music and sound effects playing. Again more like L4D in it’s B Movie style sound design.
It’s fun when it works. Right now waiting on a server for over 40 minutes and got NOTHING. So is the story of almost all PC gaming. When it works it’s actually really awesome, the announcer has amazing new quotes, there’s new Saxton Hale little signatures in the background, jokes within jokes.
sadly I couldn’t get “Pyrovision” visible on replay editor. But it’s always fun to play with the replay editor and abuse the slow motion feature.
the new Pyrovision goggles are just AMAZING. Everyone has chipmunk high pitch voices, and they are so jolly giggling over how much fun this is. Take them off and it’s a cruel reality.
